This course is aimed at senior and experienced doctors such as Consultants and General Practitioners with at least 2 years of experience, and who are looking to enhance their managerial and leadership responsibilities; junior doctors who have identified management and leadership as a career option are also considered for entry; all candidates must satisfy the Board of Graduate Studies requirements for entry; not available to international students.
Modules include: Clinical systems improvement; comparative health care systems; leadership for doctors; NHS strategy, policy and organisation; systems approach to patient safety; accounting and finance in health service organisations; design, analysis and interpretation of epidemiological research; developing leaders in healthcare education; epidemiology and statistics; health care ethics; information systems in health service organisations; medical education; qualitative and comparative research methods in health; understanding research and critical appraisal in healthcare.
