Research supervision available in 5 broad areas, between which there is much collaboration: experimental solid-state physics: nuclear magnetic resonance; magnetism, superconductivity and neutron scattering; compton scattering; surface science; ultrasonics; X-ray absorption; high-resolution X-ray diffraction; physics of materials: structural ceramics; glasses and glass ceramics; semiconductor layer structures; theoretical physics: interacting electron systems; semiconductors; magnetism; soft condensed matter; non-linear phenomena; astrophysics.
2.2 Honours degree in an appropriate discipline (physics, materials science, electronics, mathematics, physical chemistry); English language requirements: IELTS 6.5, TOEFL 92, PTE 62, CAE 60+ or CPE.
