Cyber Security and Management

The course is designed for students wishing to develop a career as a cyber security professional, or to take a leading technical or managerial role in an organisation critically dependent upon data and information communication technology. The course provides an advanced understanding of managing cyber security within the enterprise, teaches the techniques and technologies used in enterprise security architectures and covering key areas of information risk management and network defence. The course also prepares students in the broad skills required for effective management of IT resources and leadership excellence.

Entry requirements

Lower 2nd Class Honours degree, or equivalent, in an IT or Computer Science degree. Candidates offering an HNC/HND plus professional qualifications and/or proof of significant work experience will be considered for part-time study. Applicants whose first language is not English require IELTS: 6.5 (with no score less than 6.0), or Pearson (Academic): 62 (with no score less than 59). Other English language qualifications may be considered.

Course modules

Core modules: security architectures and network defence; information risk management and governance, cryptosystems and data protection; industrial espionage and counterfeiting, digital forensics evidence and intelligence Additional cyber modules*:enterprise cyber security, cyber intelligence and operations, cyber-physical systems Additional Management modules: globalisation and outsourcing; financial analysis and control systems; leadership; organisations, people and performance. *Modules required for the GCHQ Provisionally Certified Pathway
