Provides opportunities for extended academic study and professional development in education; students gain a clear understanding of the nature and significance of educational issues, both generic and subject specific, and examine the ways in which research in education might illuminate these issues.

Entry requirements

2nd Class Honours degree or equivalent; plus 3 years� professional experience involving educational assessment; applicants whose 1st language is not English require IELTS 6.5, TOEFL (iBT) 92, PTE 62 or equivalent.

Course modules

Compulsory foundation: Research methods in education; 2 options range from including: primary education; policy and practice in early childhood education; leadership and management in education; personal and social education and pastoral care; special educational needs; teaching and learning with information and communication technology; international perspectives of educational issues; school/college improvement and teacher development; other options from institute or other departments in faculty; plus 15,000-word dissertation.
