The course is aimed at students without a background in economics, and will provide training in the core components of modern economic analysis and appropriate quantitative methods. Students will acquire the ability to analyse economic problems, both empirically and theoretically, developing knowledge of economic trends, institutions and policy. A two-year course commencing with the Diploma year is available for those who plan to convert from a first degree subject other than Economics to a Master�s.
For entry to the Diploma course a first degree of at least upper second class standard, or equivalent, is normally required, along with a good �A� level in mathematics or equivalent including algebra and calculus.
