International Politics and East Asia
This is not a traditional area studies course but a political science degree that focuses on the region for its case studies; students study the international relations and international political economy of the East Asia region, developing a strong theoretical and historical foundation which allows them to construct powerful arguments and explanations.
Relevant 2.1 Honours degree or equivalent required; English language requirements: IELTS 7.0; TOEFL (iBT) 100, PTE 70, CAE 60+ or CPE.
Core course, 1 from: international political economy; international relations theory; plus 2 options including at least 1 from the first 2 following modules: East Asian development models; international relations of Pacific Asia; politics of international trade; international political economy; international relations theory; plus 15,000-word dissertation.
