Supervision available for research in wide range of areas with particular strengths in: social theory and philosophy; social and political thought; labour studies; sociology of gender; political economy and political sociology and sociologies of race and racism; migration; education; health and medicine; crime and deviance; religion and social movements; research methodology; recent theses include: class and class conflict in post-Soviet Russia; social foundation of contemporary Yemeni state; legitimation of legal and political authority; Marxism and realism; state, markets and economic globalisation in Asia-Pacific region.
2.1 Honours degree or Master's degree in a social science subject normally required; English language requirements: IELTS 6.5, TOEFL (iBT) 92, PTE 62, CAE 60+ or CPE.
