Finance and Economics
This course enables students to gain a deep theoretical and conceptual knowledge of finance and quantitative skills which will prepare you for a range of careers in the financial sector. WBS benefits from excellent links to key financial institutions and employers and this course has benefited from recommendations following consultation with the Bank of England, Goldman Sachs, Merrill Lynch, and many of our alumni.
Applicants should have an excellent undergraduate degree in a relevant subject, such as finance, economics, or business administration from a UK university or the equivalent from an overseas university. You must have achieved a good standard in mathematics, economics, and statistics/econometrics at undergraduate level. If English is not your first language, you must meet a minimum overall standard in a recognised test of English: IELTS 7.0, TOEFL (iBT) 100, PTE 70, CAE 60+ or CPE.
Assessment is by written examinations, course tests, projects, and a dissertation.
