Business (Financial Management)

This programme has been designed as an industry-focused postgraduate course for graduates with a strong quants, accounting and/or finance elements in their undergraduate degree. The course combines the development of management skills with advanced financial skills, leading to financial management roles for organisations outside of the finance industry (e.g. Finance Manager, Analyst, Head of Corporate Finance).

Entry requirements

You must have, or be expecting to obtain, a good undergraduate degree from a UK university, or overseas equivalent. If English is not your 1st language, you must meet a minimum overall standard in a recognised test of English: IELTS 7.0, TOEFL (iBT) 100, PTE 70, CAE 60+ or CPE.

With a strong core of business subjects and a choice of subject specialisms, you can select the study route that directly supports your personal career ambitions.

Assessment methods

Choice of Dissertation or Business in Practice route in Term 3.Dissertation route: If you are considering further study (PhD) or you would like to research a topic in depth, the 8,000 word dissertation enables you to test and apply the theories you have acquired. You will be supervised and supported throughout and will usually submit your dissertation in early September. Business in Practice route: If you would like to develop further applied skills and specialist knowledge to suit your career aspirations, you can complete your studies with 2 additional elective modules and our applied Business in Practice module. You will develop deep functional and industry expertise with practical insights from our faculty and our CareersPlus and Corporate Relations team.
