Philosophy

The qualification is mainly aimed at students whose first degree is not in philosophy, or who need a refresher course after a study break; students take 4 30-CATS undergraduate modules (or 8 15-CATS modules), with individual supervision.

Entry requirements

2.1 Honours degree in discipline other than philosophy; English language requirements: IELTS 7.0, TOEFL (iBT) 100, PTE 70, CAE 60+ or CPE.

Course modules

Modules include: History of modern philosophy; plus other options chosen in consultation with the course director.

Assessment methods

Assessment is by 2 3000-word essays, or 1 6000-word essay, for each 30-CATS module, and by 1 3000-word essay for each 15-CATS module.
