Management Studies (Health and Social Care)

This programme addresses the needs of managers in an environment subject to frequent change, with even more fundamental changes expected in the future; questions of resource allocation, and the efficiency of using and organising resources, are central to the current debate; the programme is designed to help students understand these issues and put them into context; students also improve their functional skills in specific areas, and learn about multi-disciplinary working as an integral part of modern management practice within the health and social care sectors.

Entry requirements

Applicants need to be working in an appropriate health/social care environment, with management responsibility. This is manadatory in order for applicants to achieve the learning outcomes of the modules and the course. Applicants also need to hold an Honours degree (2.2 or higher).

Course modules

Modules include: managing resources; role development; strategic choices; managing quality; relationship management; the policy environment.

Sponsorship information

UWL welcomes applications from students who are sponsored: a signed letter of authorisation from a sponsor is required providing student's full name; the course which the sponsor is prepared to pay for; the sponsor's name and address (for invoice purposes).
