Human Resource Management

Throughout the course, students are encouraged to take a critical perspective on current theory and practice, to analyse complex problems and to devise creative solutions to those problems, and to develop the skills needed to conduct research into human resource management issues; they are expected to take responsibility for their own learning, to contribute to the learning of others and to be reflective practitioners.

Entry requirements

A 1st or 2nd Class Honours degree (2.1 and 2.2) in any discipline; or another relevant qualification at level 6; HR practitioners with at least 5 years' experience without those qualifications are assessed via interview and essay; applicants whose 1st language is not English require IELTS 6.5 or above, at a minimum of 5.5 for each of the 4 individual components, TOEFL internet-based test 90 or above, Pearson PTE Academic 58 or above, or an equivalent secure English language test.

Course modules

Modules include: Human resource management in context; managing people; developing skills for management; people resourcing and talent management; employment law; management research report.
