Civil and Environmental Engineering (with Internship)

This course is designed to advance analytical skills in the core subject areas of civil engineering including structural analysis, sustainability and hydraulics. The application of modern information technology techniques to complex problem solving is a theme that runs through the course. This course also covers broader issues of project and process management in civil engineering and has the added advantage of including a six-month internship incorporated into the period of study. This makes it ideal for students seeking to add a practical dimension to their studies and understand the demands of workplace supervision and management. Internship opportunities exist throughout the civil and construction industry within the UK.

Entry requirements

An Honours degree, minimum 2.1, in civil or structural engineering or other engineering qualification at equivalent level. Alternatively, a lower level qualification in a numerate area (e.g. BSc/BEng in engineering) together with appropriate experience will also be considered. International students need to meet our English language requirement at either IELTS at 6.5 or above, and a minimum of 5.5 for each of the 4 individual components.
