Creative Writing

This course will allocate students with an individual supervisor who will mentor you through your chosen project and short thesis. This typically takes the form of regular one-to-one meetings as well as on-line support. In addition, and depending on the chosen project, you will be directed to attend relevant sessions that enhance your development as writer and postgraduate researcher.

Entry requirements

An undergraduate degree (2:2 or above). An Enthusiasm for writing. International students need to meet our English language requirement at either IELTS at 7 or above. International students need to meet our English language requirement at either IELTS at 6.5 or above, and a minimum of 5.5 for each of the 4 individual components (Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening). Pearson PTE Academic at score 58 or above, or an equivalent secure English language test. In some countries where teaching is in English, we may accept local qualifications.

Research areas: Novel; screenplay; adaptation; radio drama travelogue; scholarly edition.
