Events and Conference Management
This course explores how and why events/conferences are planned, and how the venues and destinations in which they are held are marketed. Students learn how events and conferences contribute to the lives of communities and their effects on communications in business, politics and professional life.
A good Honours degree (normally an upper 2nd) or equivalent. Applications from candidates without formal qualifications but with experience in the conference or events industry are welcome. Candidates whose 1st language is not English require an IELTS score of 6.5.
Modules include: Conference and events planning; dissertation; events and conference marketing; event concepts plus options chosen from; airport planning and management; exploring creative experiences for attractions and events; festivals, culture and place; mega events; professional practice; tourism and cities.
