This conversion course is designed for graduates who wish to pursue a career in psychology but need to acquire the graduate basis for chartered membership (GBC) of the british psychological society (BPS).
Honours degree with 2.1 or above, or equivalent (2.2 considered with evidence of further academic or professional achievement). Applicants should be able to demonstrate competence in mathematics, for example through having obtained GSCE mathematics (or equivalent). Candidates whose 1st language is not English require an IELTS score of 6.5. The University offers pre-sessional summer programmes for students who need to improve their English before starting the course.
Developmental and differential psychology; project for psychology; psychobiology and cognitive psychology; qualitative research methods; quantitative research methods; social psychology and conceptual issues in psychology; plus optional modules; work experience in a psychological setting; health and the lifespan; psychology literature project; developing business communications; specialist topics in applied psychology; conflict resolution and negotiation.
