International Relations

The course offers an innovative, disciplined and intellectually challenging theoretical and empirical framework for the study of issues and perspectives within the international relations discipline. Various aspects of international politics are considered, including the dynamics of international social and political power relationships and conflicts. These are studied in the contexts of various historical continuities, discontinuities and contrasts, as well as in relation to political and social processes.

Entry requirements

A good Honours degree, 1st Class or upper 2nd Class or equivalent. Equivalent qualifications from overseas are welcome; if you hold or are expecting to gain a good 1st degree in an unrelated subject, you may be required to complete the University's Summer School module in international relations or an equivalent approved by the course admissions tutor. If your 1st language is not English, an attainment of at least IELTS 6.5 or equivalent must be demonstrated. Your application must be supported by a reference written on institutional notepaper by an academic familiar with your abilities. Applications from mature candidates are welcomed.
