Visual Culture by Published Work

Based within our Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, our research programme in visual culture is home to a unique multi-disciplinary programme based around the belief that visual literacy, and the impact of visual forms of thinking and working now play a significant role in our contemporary society. The visual culture research cluster is composed of academics, curators, practitioners, museum educators, and consultants with research expertise across a range of historical, theoretical, and practice-led forms of inquiry. Our research themes include Urban cultures; visual culture studies in Europe; culture as education; spiritualism and technology; and new media theory.
