The University of Wolverhampton prides itself on being a career-focused university, with extensive business links across a wide range of industries. It has a 98% employability rating for its postgraduate students and offers over 150 postgraduate qualifications. Located in the heart of England, Wolverhampton is within easy reach of the rest of the UK, less than 20 minutes to Birmingham with London, Manchester and Liverpool in easy reach on the train and bus. The Shropshire countryside is close by for idyllic views, a perfect place to retreat to when busy city life gets too much. Along with a site in the centre of Wolverhampton, there are also campuses located in Telford and Walsall.

A number of our courses can be taken in a distance-learning format via a virtual learning environment (VLE), enabling you to learn remotely from the comfort of your own home.
Close department links and careers advice has resulted in 98% of postgraduates finding work within the first 6 months of graduating. There is also an initiative called SPEED which offers support to students who are looking to set up their own business.
The University comprises world-leading research facilities and department-specific institutes and centres that have attained national and international recognition in the last 20 years. The latest Research Excellence Framework (REF 2014) ranked research at Wolverhampton as “world leading”, particularly in the areas of health, modern languages, communication, cultural and media studies, and library and information management. The institutes and centres work closely alongside industry experts and include the Centre for Film, Media, Discourse and Culture, and the First World War research group. You will be assigned a supervisor specialising in your subject to help assist you throughout your research, and all postgraduate research students are automatically members of The Doctoral College in which regular workshops, events, and training and development programmes are organised.
Located in the centre of Wolverhampton, City Campus is home to the Harrison Learning Centre, boasting a wide range of books and online learning material spread over four floors. At the Technology Centre, you will find over 500 computers, while the Arena Theatre regularly showcases new talent from performing arts students. There is an impressive food court and a brand new catering outlet at the Millennium City building.
Facilities at our Telford Campus include the Learning Centre which contains books, journals, DVDs and computer suites, a floodlit football pitch, tennis and basketball courts, a Costa Coffee and the Students’ Union common area. The campus is also home to the e-Innovation Centre, a brand new home for start-up businesses, and the Business and Technology Centre.
At Walsall Campus, the on-site multi-million pound Walsall Sports Centre includes 12 courts, a six-lane floodlit athletics track, a dance studio and a swimming pool. There is also a Students’ Union with a free cash point, social space, PC access, free Wi-Fi and a Squeezebox juice bar and subject-specific facilities including the Performance Hub which includes a 125-seat studio theatre, and specialist science laboratories.
