Education for Health, Social Care and Allied Professionals

This course aims to develop knowledge and skills for teaching so that students can facilitate and manage learning and assessment at higher education level within a health or social care context. The course is flexible to enable students to develop specific expertise which can be applied to the complexities of their professional practice area.

Entry requirements

Postgraduate Certificate - PgCert: Applicants normally should have a Bachelor's degree; be a registered nurse and/or midwife on either Part 1 or 2 of the NMC professional register, or be a registered health, social care or allied professional; have completed at least 3 years post registration experience and gained additional professional knowledge and skills and experience in an area where students are gaining practical experience relevant to their registration; have opportunities to teach in a substantial capacity in order to fulfil the requisite number of teaching hours; have sponsorship from a relevant employing organisation; have 2 references that support good character and suitability of course (1 of which should be from current employer) should accompany application. Please note a place on the course is subject to interview.
