The course is designed to acquaint students with psychological perspectives on workplace issues, and to develop a range of transferable skills that will be relevant to the occupational psychology practitioner. Students gain an understanding of occupational psychology within the wider business context through professional practice sessions. Students also gain the ability to apply psychological theory to workplace settings, and to critically analyse work situations.
Modules include: human resource management; counselling in organisations; introduction to research methods; organisational change, development and employee relations; human factors in the workplace; professional practice; psychological assessment and measurement; training in organisations; research dissertation.
