Students on this course develop a range of core nursing qualities such as caring, compassion, higher level understanding and managing the complexities of nursing work within a constantly evolving health environment.

Entry requirements

MSc: Professional: a recognised nursing qualification with current Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) registration to practice or with the equivalent if from overseas. Academic: A 1st degree (2.2) in a nursing or related subject area. Students who do not have a 1st degree, but have successfully completed Level 6 Continuing Professional Development (CPD) modules, or who can provide evidence of their ability may be considered. Such applicants will be invited to discuss individual needs with the programme leader to determine suitability for study at Master's level. If English is not the applicant's first language they will need to have a TOEFL score of 550 or above, or an IELTS score of 7.0 or above in each of the IELTS categories.

Course modules

Evidence based practice project; research dissertation; consultancy; project; the essence of nursing; advanced inquiry for nurses and AHPs; the critical professional; decision-making for advanced practice.
