Physician Associate Studies
This course has been designed to enable students to develop the skills required to become a competent and confident Physician Associate (PA). The programme of study provides an opportunity to develop mastery in a range of core PA qualities for example; holistic assessment techniques and appropriate therapeutic interventions, with the ability to diagnose and or manage an agreed range of clinical problems.
Postgraduate Diploma - PgDip: 1st Degree 2.2 or above in medical science or health related subject or 1st Degree 2.2 or above plus 3 months health care experience. Those meeting the entry requirements may be shortlisted for interview and will be subsequently required to meet a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and occupational health requirements. You will be expected to meet the costs associated with the DBS clearance process.
Foundations of clinical practice for the physician associate; foundations of clinical medicine; clinical reasoning and decision making for the physician associate; personal and professional development of the physician associate; foundations of primary care for the physician associate; applied pharmacology.
