Molecular Biology with Bioinformatics

This course is for biosciences graduates and for practising professionals seeking to widen their experience and qualifications, and extend their knowledge of applied molecular biology/bioinformatics. It provides an understanding of the subjects key principles as well as how these can be effectively applied to a wide range of industrial and environmental applications.

Entry requirements

A good Honours degree or equivalent in a bioscience subject, plus 1 to 2 years appropriate experience, although substantial professional experience can substitute for graduate status. Graduates from other disciplines (e.g. computer science) are welcome to apply. Applicants should also have a good standard of written and spoken English (IELTS 6.0 or equivalent). Applicants who are currently employed, should request a statement of support from their employer.

Course modules

Modules include: concepts and techniques; DNA data mining; genes and genomes; gene technology; internet and communications technology; Master's laboratory techniques; Master's project; concepts and techniques; research methods.
