Oil and Gas Management

This course is designed for those interested or already engaged in a career in the industry. It will help you develop a comprehensive understanding of the oil and gas industry, making you aware of recent developments as well as limitations and problems with the techniques in current practice. The extractive industries are a complex business environment and the degree aims to help you develop your understanding to improve business and management practice.

Entry requirements

Accredited prior learning will be permitted only under the terms of the university procedure. Successful applicants will normally be required to have an 2.1 (or better) Honours degree in a subject broadly related to the science, engineering or business and management branches of the oil and gas industry. Ideally students should have a working knowledge of chemistry to at least Level 2 (GCSE). English competence for international applicants should be in line with university requirements for Master's level taught degrees (IELTS 6.0 overall and 5.5 in all elements). International Students will require approval from the Academic Technology Approval Scheme (ATAS).

Course modules

Modules include: international commercial awareness; the future of the oil and gas industry; petroleum chemistry and refining; strategic and project management.
