Pharmaceutical Science (Pharmacological Sciences)

This course is concerned with fostering a multi disciplinary approach towards the study of new developments in the chemical, biological and biomedical science areas focusing upon the biochemistry, pharmacology, design, methods of analysis and delivery of pharmaceutical substances. The course aims to produce high quality pharmaceutical science graduates with the generic, subject specific and transferable knowledge and skills suited to a career in the pharmaceutical industry or other related laboratory based scientific discipline.

Entry requirements

Normally you should have a minimum 2.2 Honours degree or equivalent with an appropriate Honours degree in chemistry, biochemistry, pharmacology, biological or biomedical subjects. You should have a good standard of written and spoken English (IELTS 6.5 or equivalent).

Course modules

Modules include: pharmaceutical analysis; research methods; sources of drugs and drug actions; strategies and methods in drug discovery, design and development; molecular pharmacology; pharmacoepidemiology; research project.
