This MSc programme in Manufacturing Engineering trains highly skilled engineers in the techniques of manufacturing engineering and its related technologies; it provides effective careers for managers who can meet challenges in a rapidly changing global manufacturing industry; the programme also enhances the ability of current or potential engineers to increase the performance and profitability of engineering and manufacturing companies operating in the context of the global business environment through the use of modern design techniques, manufacturing technologies and management philosophies.
A pass at degree level. Students are selected using application form and references in the first instance and may be invited for interview. Students applying for individual modules will be required to demonstrate the ability to absorb technical concepts and detail, possibly by way of their previous industrial or commercial experience. Minimum English competency is the standard MSc entry: IELTS 6.0 or equivalent.
Modules include: manufacturing processes and technology (new); lean and agile manufacturing (new); advanced manufacturing for automotive and aerospace sectors (new); project management tools and techniques; sustainability and life cycle engineering; research methods; postgraduate dissertation.
