Managing PR for Events and Venues

The overall aim of this programme is to provide students with an understanding of the theory, practice and implications of the use of public relations strategies and techniques for the event management sector. The study of public relations and event management develops the practical analytical skills needed for students to gain a greater understanding of communications activities in event management and the impact of such communications.

Entry requirements

A good degree (minimum 2.2) or equivalent in a related discipline. Those applying from non-events related disciplines may be required to study a range of level 6 modules before being accepted onto the Master's award. Candidates with significant relevant work experience and related qualifications are encouraged to apply. International students are required to have IELTS 6.0 or equivalent.

Course modules

Modules include: managing events in a digital world; the staging and evaluation of events; PR communications theory and practice; events media relations practice; contemporary event and venue management; the applied professional project.
