Medical Education

The course explores the nature of teaching and learning in the clinical environment. It focuses upon the ways in which the medical teacher practitioner may enable learning through a range of methodologies. It also explores the rationale and methods by which clinical learning is assessed across a range of metrics as well as critically evaluating the effectiveness of these instruments. Upon completion students will have achieved an understanding of how people learn and a range of teaching and learning methodologies.

Entry requirements

Students will normally be healthcare professionals who occupy or, have occupied, a position where they deliver or manage learning, training and development, within a Healthcare environment. They will also need to hold one of the following qualifications: a 1st or 2nd Class Honours degree from a UK university or overseas equivalent; a professional qualification deemed to be equivalent to an appropriate Honours degree; qualifications and experience deemed to be equivalent to the above.
