This course includes the essential technical skills of self-shooting, editing, directing as well as the role of press, PR and marketing. Key elements are taught by media professionals. Students find out 1st-hand about industry-standard practices.

Entry requirements

A good Honours degree in a relevant subject (e.g. media, communications, PR, journalism), but candidates with 1st degrees in other humanities, social sciences, arts and business subjects are also considered. Substantial relevant experience or professional qualifications can substitute for graduate status. Applicants should also have a good standard of written and spoken English (IELTS 6.0 or equivalent).

Modules include: Contemporary media; independent project; industry placement; theory and history, industry and practice; research methods; professional practice.
