Trans-Media Screen Writing
This course equips participants with the creative, professional and technical knowledge and craft skills required by professional screenwriters across a range of media from interactive narratives, Twitter fiction and blogging to webisodes, mobisodes and movellas, as well as film and television.
A good Honours degree (1st, 2.1) or equivalent in a relevant subject; a commitment to creative writing and a level of practical experience; a good standard of written and spoken English (IELTS 7.0, including 7.0 in the written element, or equivalent). Applicants with significant professional experience in a relevant subject are encouraged to apply; or possessing a 2.2 degree in a relevant subject: however, you would be registered on a prescribed Postgraduate Certificate and successful completion of the Postgraduate Certificate programme allows you to progress to the full Master's programme.
Modules include: future narratives: transmedia storytelling; writing for film and television; writing for interactive and new media; writing for animation; business futures for transmedia writers; research methods: the screenwriter's craft and practice; Master's writing project.
