Religious and Values Education
This course enables students to: reflect on current practice; build teaching skills and critical reflection upon them; deepen subject knowledge of religious education in an area of choice; the taught sessions and tutorial support are designed to enable students to respond to a range of issues in teaching, learning and assessment in religious education and to facilitate personal professional development in the subject.
Teachers of religous education both specialists and non-specialists who are working at any key stage or in an advisory capacity.
Current issues in religious education; learning and teaching in religious education; negotiated learning.
The course is assessed by a scheme of work and accompanying critical commentary; an evaluative case study reviewing current practice; and a supported study of a topic chosen by the participant.
