Physician Associate

The programme's mission is to: educate physician associate students from a variety of backgrounds to practice medicine as part of an inter-professional team; respond to the needs of our communities and stakeholders, including the National Health Service; celebrate diversity and the contributions of talented individuals who are dedicated to the health and flourishing of their patients.

Entry requirements

Bioscience graduates should hold a 2.2 degree. Other graduates require a 2.1 in science, engineering or social sciences. Healthcare professionals should have a Diploma of Higher Education in healthcare profession (ODP, adult nursing, paramedic) with a 50 per cent overall and a minimum of 2 years experience in a professional role. In addition, all applicants are required to have GCSE mathematics and English at grade A-C or equivalent. Applicants also need to have relevant work experience; 2 references; a heath and police screening and require professional registration with a professional body.

Course modules

Modules include: biosciences and pharmacology; adult medicine; emergency medicine and critical care; evidence based practice and research methods; maternal and paediatric medicine; behavioural medicine; clinical practice; dissertation.
