European Basketball Coaching Science
This course provides students with an opportunity to combine studies with elite sports activities, and enables current practitioners to develop their conceptual and theoretical understanding in the field of basketball coaching science; it is of interest to coaches, senior players, coach educators and students throughout Europe who have an interest in developing the game and players.
A good 1st degree in a coaching related degree; students who hold a lower coaching-related degree classification, a non-coaching related degree is considered on a case by case basis and may be required to submit a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate coaching experience.
Modules: European basketball coaching concepts; European basketball coaching pedagogy; scientific concepts of basketball coaching; current issues in basketball research; dissertation; professional practice; research methods.
A wide variety of assessment methods are used including: written assignments, data handling assignments, case study, oral presentation and defence, integrative curriculum project, portfolio, business plan, group presentation and advanced independent study.
