Professional Practice

This course is designed for participants who are currently operating as managers, senior specialists, project leaders or professionals from the business, public or third sectors. The key features of this work-based programme are achieved through the use of work-based projects. These enable participants to tailor their studies to their own particular needs.

Entry requirements

The course is open to business owners, directors, middle and senior managers, professionals and senior specialists. They will need to possess a 2nd class honours degree, or equivalent, in any subject plus a minimum of 2 years relevant professional/business/organisational experience, at an appropriate senior level, or, an appropriate professional qualification plus a minimum of 2 years relevant professional/business/organisational experience, at an appropriate senior level. If English is not their 1st language, they will be expected to have reached a sufficient standard on admission to the course (e.g. IELTS 6.5, with a minimum of 6.0 in each element).

Course modules

Modules: professional development profiling; organisation research methods; work based projects; reflecting on practice and research; major work based project (dissertation).

Assessment methods

There are no examinations: assessment is through course work and work-based projects.
