Computer Science

Whether your interest is in how users interact with technology, or you want to work with world-leading researchers in quantum computing or artificial immune systems, our department is the place for you to gain a degree in research. Research is very important to us. Students who join our research programme can study for the PhD, or MSc by Research. From the start, each student undertakes a research project working closely with a supervisor selected by the student; a 2nd member of staff plays the role of internal assessor and provides further academic support and guidance.

Entry requirements

Typically, you will have achieved a good Master's degree or at least an upper 2nd Class Honours degree (or international equivalent). If you are a non-native English speaking applicant you must provide evidence of your English language ability. You need to show enough fluency in all aspects of English (reading, writing, speaking and listening) to the required level of the course you are applying to.
