Philosophy, Politics and Economics (Economics and Philosophy)
The MA is open to those with a good 1st degree (i.e. an upper 2nd or equivalent) in any subject. Students with no prior knowledge of economics at undergraduate level are usually required to attend the economics summer session. If you're a non-native English speaking applicant you must provide evidence of your English language ability. You need to show enough fluency in all aspects of English (reading, writing, speaking and listening) to the required level of the course you're applying to.
Core modules include: The PPE of social choice; research skills for PPE; dissertation. Students take modules from economics including: Applied microeconomics; macroeconomics; econometrics; and philosophy modules in practical philosophy; or contemporary political philosophy.
Unseen examination papers or essays, exams and a dissertation.
