Research students will make a contribution to knowledge in their field of interest, impact on practice, policies and knowledge and become expert researchers in either academia or industry. The programme equips students with the skills to undertake research, giving training in a wide range of methodologies and allowing students to develop into independent researchers. The first year centres on a dedicated research methodology training programme. Research degree topics include: accounting and finance; human resource management; international business and strategy; marketing; operations management; organisational behaviour, theory and technology.
A relevant Master's degree is required; applicants should have a minimum of a 60 per cent average on a Master's level programme, with a good mark on their Master's dissertation. Applicants should have a research proposal prepared.
A range of scholarships and studentships are available at postgraduate level. Some scholarships are funded by the University (such as the York Master's Opportunity Scholarship) and some are funded by Research Councils, alumni, businesses and charities. Please check with the provider for details.
