Contemporary Literature

This programme provides you with the opportunity to gain a higher degree through a combination of taught modules, independent study, writing and research. The MA in Contemporary Literature will focus on a wide variety of recent literature and on current developments in theory and critical practice.

Entry requirements

Lower 2nd Class Honours degree in a relevant area from an approved institution. Students whose 1st language is not English require IELTS 6.0 or equivalent.

Course modules

Modules include: Critical perspectives on contemporary literature; British literature (the state of the art); contemporary American writing; post-colonial literatures.

Assessment methods

Assesment methods will include critical essays, seminar papers, coursework, portfolio, annotated bibliographies and assessed presentations.
