Chaplaincy Studies

This programme is intended for those currently in, or interested in, chaplaincy (broadly conceived) who want to develop knowledge and practice in this area. Modules on this award are taught in blocks on residentials twice a year.

Entry requirements

Applicants should hold an Upper 2nd Class Honours degree in any subject, although priority will be given to applicants with a humanities degree, especially tehology and religious studies. Applicants with a Lower 2nd Class Honours degree may be accepted following interview. Applicants whose 1st language is not English require IELTS 6.5 (with a minimum 6.5 in each component) or equivalent.

Course modules

Modules include: chaplaincy within the mission of the Church; the chaplain in the institutional context; chaplaincy in the multi-faith environment; the theology and spirituality of chaplaincy; independent study; dissertation.

Assessment methods

Assessment methods include dissertation.
