Sports Coaching

This programme considers the scientific dimensions of sport coaching. Integration of technology is a key aspect of the programme and is used to support the development of research and practice in coaching and coach education. There is also be the opportunity to undertake relevant vocational qualifications and work placement while on the programme.

Entry requirements

Applicants should hold an Upper 2nd Class Honours degree in a related subject or have significant prior experience in a relevant context. Applicants whose 1st language is not English require IELTS 6.5 (with a minimum 5.5 in each component) or equivalent.

Course modules

Semester 1: performance analysis; research methods. Semester 2: psychological dimensions of coaching; research paper.

Assessment methods

Expert statements, delivery of group workshops and creation of e-portfolios.
