Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA)
The Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) is a professional body for people who work in public finance. Since its foundation, it has continued to support, educate and train professional accountants for work in the public sector; it is also responsible for setting accounting standards in local governments. Members of the CIPFA work across a wide variety of public finance companies including national audit agencies and accountancy firms.
The CIPFA offers eight different financial qualifications to individuals. These range from The Professional Qualification, which equips you with broad financial management skills, to the Certificate in International Public Sector Financial Reporting (Cert IPSFR) or the Postgraduate Diploma for Public Finance & Leadership (PDPFL), which are skill-specific.
