The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM)
Founded in 1911 as the sales managers' institute, the association now has over 40,000 members.
The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) sets the benchmark for professional marketing standards in the UK as well as a number of countries in Europe and further afield.
The CIM offers 130 short courses and qualifications. Its membership levels are tailored to coincide with the broad stages of a marketing career: beginning as an affiliate, moving into management as an associate, managing people and projects as a member, and direction and leadership as a fellow.
CIM qualifications in marketing
The institute offers four key marketing qualifications:
- Introductory Certificate in Marketing
- Professional Certificate in Marketing
- Professional Diploma in Marketing
- Chartered Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing.
Each qualification covers six core competencies: research and analysis, planning, brand management, implementation, managing and measuring effectiveness. The CIM also offers sales and digital marketing qualifications.
